AnnotationService learning is defined as a pedagogy that integrates community service into academic curricula. This article describes how, with help from a grant from the US Corporation for National Service, service learning was suffused in four classes of Aging Well, a graduate gerontology course. 31 students were paired with 31 older people for a period of up to 20 hours. The impact of the older people's emotional and social wellness was assessed through student journals, e-mail reflection, and the administration of a survey to the older people. A quantitative assessment of the older people was attempted using the Life Satisfaction of the Elderly Scale and the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Analysis indicated that the service provided to the older people had a positive impact on their emotional and social wellness. (RH).
