Annotation | Stroke is included as one of the Standards in the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF), the aim being to reduce the incidence of stroke and to ensure that those who have had a stroke have prompt access to integrated stroke services. This literature review was conducted to determine what factors within a stroke unit reduce deaths. It emphasises the value of multi-disciplinary care and of preventing complications. (RH). |
