Annotation | This country study of Latvia is published as part of a programme carried out by the UNECE's Population Activities Unit (PAU). As with other such studies, the report gives a broad presentation of the demographic, economic and social context, and based mainly on data from the country's 1989 census. Other chapters present information on living arrangements, employment and retirement, housing conditions, and sources of income. The socio-economic factors associated with an ageing population are highlighted. (RH). |
