Annotation | Household composition and living arrangements are important determinants of quality of life and well-being in later life. Sharing a household with a spouse or partner provides older people with possibilities for achieving intimacy and daily support. This is one of nine papers given at the Conference, and discusses lifestyle choices such as minimal residential units (MRUs, and "living apart together" (LAT, also known as "latting"). More qualitative and quantitative research is needed to elicit these cohabitation patterns in men and women aged 50+. (RH). |
