AnnotationThe Evergreen project has focused on the health and functional capacity of the 291 residents living in Jyväskylä, Finland born in 1910 and still alive at the beginning of 1990. In the present study, togetherness was measured with the self-administered Social Provision Scale (SPS) with 111 of the sample at 5-year follow-up. One- and two-factor models were specified at two different points of measurement. The stability of the factor models' structure and the level of latent factors were studied using longitudinal factor analysis models. The two-factor model fits the data better than the one-factor model. Perceived togetherness was differentiated into factors of emotional and social togetherness. The structure of perceived togetherness remained unchanged during the 5-year follow-up. (RH).
