Annotation | The National Service Framework for Older People (NSF) introduced the idea of older people's champions, that is, individuals who would play a key role in promoting the interests of older people, particularly in health and social care. This toolkit is intended to give older people's champions ideas on how they can be effective as champions. It follows up some of the issues in Jill Manthorpe's report for BGOP, "Championing older people". The toolkit covers: effective working within the NHS and council structures; liaison and links with other organisations; letting people know about older people's champions; sharing experiences beyond the local level; and maximising personal objectives.
