Annotation"Social care needs" is interpreted as covering home care, day care, residential and nursing care in this report, which was commissioned by Sefton Pensioners Advocacy Centre (SPAC) and Merseyside Gay and Lesbian Community Forum. Advocacy is also suggested as another key element. This report outlines the policy and research context; how services for older gay men and lesbians are commissioned, citing existing studies; and uses material from interviews with some of the men and women whose social care needs are identified. The aim is to find out how their needs differ (if at all) from those of the general population. (RH).
