AnnotationMany care homes and hospitals have totally inappropriate flooring and floor coverings that do little to reduce the risk of patients fracturing their hips after falling on these surfaces. This article outlines the results of another study that tested the impact of hip protectors and the shock absorbancy of different underlays. The authors suggest the sorts of information that should be included in future studies. (RH).
