Annotation | Care home residents are at high risk of falling. Experience suggests that falls can be reduced by 50% when an individual's risks of falling are assessed and action taken to reduce them. This document gives examples of what care homes are doing to reduce the risk of falls and injuries. The aim is to support care home managers in responding to regulations and standards, and to protect the interests of older people in remaining independent, active and safe. Help the Aged was funded by the Department of Health (DH) in this work. (RH). |
