Annotation | Following on from their article on a "shared care" approach of collaboration between general practitioners (GPs) and hospital specialists in dementia care in the previous issue of Journal of Dementia Care, the authors identify twelve competencies needed by professionals along the dementia care pathway. These competencies are: pattern recognition; deductive synthesis; dealing with uncertainty; risk assessment; dialogue; communicating bad news; integrating different perspectives; networking; shared care; case management; disability perspectives; and problem analysis.
