Annotation | A brief article that looks at the current debate about the "pension crisis", the impending age discrimination legislation due to come into force in October 2007, and the implications all this will have for retirement as a life stage. The author argues that although retirement should be reshaped, she considers it would be a retrograde step to abolish it. There are many people who are not able or willing to continue to work well into their later life and look forward to their retirement as "light at the end of the tunnel". (KJ/RH). |
