Annotation | The University of Wales, Bangor undertook the collaborative study, Housing for an Aged Population: Planning Implications (HAPPI), which was funded by the Welsh Office and undertaken in partnership with Gwynedd Rural Ageing Network. 423 people aged 70+ were interviewed in their own homes; and the study used qualitative and quantitative data to look at public and private transport usage. This article outlines some of the findings, in particular the reasons why people did not use transport and the impact in terms of isolation and loneliness. (RH). |
