AnnotationSince 1998, the Government has introduced many policy initiatives relevant to older people. The Committee of Public Accounts has produced this overview report, which draws on some of its previous reports and those of the National Audit Office (NAO) that have dealt with aspects of services for older people. Themes in this report cover: designing services to meet the needs of older people; consulting with older people and the bodies representing them; delivering convenient and accessible services; and helping older people to know what services are available. In future hearings, the Committee will be examining what consideration has been give to conclusions and recommendations on how services are developed that both meet older people's needs and preclude social exclusion.
