Annotation | Older people are major users of public services provided by central government, local government and independent sector organisations. This report examines whether, in line with the Government's stated aims, the development of services relevant to older people is joined up, avoids duplication, and takes account of older people's characteristics and needs. The focus is on five initiatives: the Inter-Ministerial Group for Older People; Better Government for Older People (BGOP); "Winning the generation game", a report by the Performance and Evaluation Unit; the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF); and Quality and Choice for Older People's Housing, developed jointly by the Department of Health (DH) and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). An executive summary (10 pp) is also available. (RH). |
