Annotation | Three years ago, "Valuing People" set out a vision of independence and choice for people with learning difficulties, and was the strongest policy pronouncement by government since 1971. Today, many service users and support groups are impatient with the pace of change. The author reports on the prevailing frustration of leaders in the field: Jean Collins of Values into Action (VIA); Kathryn Stone of Voice UK, Andrew Holman of Community Living; and Rob Greig of the Valuing People support team. |
