Annotation | The Validation method can help us to gain a fuller understanding of the experience of an older person with dementia. It has its foundation in the principles of Erik Erikson's 1964 psycho-social theory of development, in which he proposed that different life tasks need to be completed at different stages of life. The author highlights the practicalities of the technique, and notes that it is a person-centred approach. (RH). |
