Annotation | The Supporting People programme offers vulnerable people the opportunity to improve their quality of life by enabling them to live in the community. These Notes are essentially shorter versions of the information to be found in "Supporting people: policy into practice", originally issued by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) in 2001, and to which the reader is referred for more information. Note 1 is an overview of the Supporting People programme. Note 2 outlines the key stages in drawing up the strategy, while Note 3 covers the team, and Note 4 the strategy. Note 5 deals with cross-authority arrangements; Note 6, Reviews and managing the changeover; Note 7, Purchasing support services; Note 8 Quality and monitoring; Note 9, Services for older people; and Note 10, Meeting black and minority ethnic needs. Services for older people form a major part of the Supporting People programme, in terms of numbers of people receiving services, and this documentation outlines how services will be delivered.
