AnnotationOn 24 February 2002, the BBC held a "Your NHS" day, with programmes on radio and television. As part of that event, the public were invited to vote for the NHS issues they believed mattered most. This independent briefing is the basis for reports screened on the BBC's "Your NHS" Day on 24 March 2004, and covers the top five priorities identified in 2002: free long-term care for older people (England and Scotland looked at separately); better pay for NHS staff; shorter waiting times (for cancer and heart care); improved Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments; and cleaner hospitals.
