Annotation | Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in the NHS is more widespread than people realise, and doctors are becoming interested in access through primary care. This document provides a background to the emerging recommendations, guidelines and tools relating to good practice in the CG of CAM in NHS primary care. It details current primary care access to CAM services from the Project's England-wide survey, and describes CG activities undertaken in a sample of the CAM services identified in London. Issues such as clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness are considered, and priorities are suggested. This research was funded by the Department of Health (DH) and the King's Fund. (RH). |
