Annotation | The Adult and Community Learning Fund (ACLF) was set up by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) in 1998, to support community-based organisations in developing new learning opportunities for adults. The Fund aimed to widen participation, and to take education into sectors of the community not previously reached by traditional educational organisations. This bulletin provides information based on statistical returns from the NIACE-managed adult learning projects. It demonstrates the Fund's impact, for example, that more than a third of participants were aged 50+. (RH). |
