AnnotationThe provision of services in the home for people requiring care and support is central to community care policies. There is limited national information about the way this care is organised by local authorities. Research undertaken in 2003 has provided insight into the purchasing and provision of home care services in England from the viewpoint of independent providers, social services commissioners and local authority services. Main findings of this research is given in this brief report but the full report, Commissioning Home Care : Changing practice : delivering quality? is available from UKHCA or can be downloaded from their website.
