AnnotationThis Ohio-based study assessed changes in AIDS-related knowledge as a result of a sex education workshop created specifically for older people (age 60+) and the subsequent retention of this information. The authors' findings support the acquisition of knowledge by the 40 participants as a result of attending the workshop. In addition, AIDS-related knowledge was retained for at least 3 months. Thus, older people can and will acquire new information regarding AIDS-related information when it is presented to them. Difficulties in collecting information regarding risk-related behaviours to examine the relationship between knowledge and behaviour change are also discussed. (KJ/RH).
