Annotation | The Geriatric Interdisciplinary Team Training (GITT) initiative is funded by the John A Hartford Foundation (based in New York City), and serves as a model for interprofessional collaborations, being designed to enhance the cooperative interchange between health professionals in providing care to older people. The first three articles in this issue of Gerontology & Geriatrics Education are designed to acquaint readers with the origins of GITT, the basic structure of the training involved, the organisational issues, the resources needed to implement this form of training, and its positive outcomes. The fourth article describes the manner in which the components come together to provide care to the frail older adult, while the last two articles describe an innovative videotape approach to training health care students.
