Annotation | This is the second in a series of five papers looking at ways to promote the independence and well-being of older people. While a shift has started in public services' approaches to older people, the report argues for major change at a number of levels. Having examined the background and policy context, the report uses case studies on how to involve older people effectively. Using the lessons from the case studies, the report asks what should be included and how to go about developing a local strategic approach. The report builds on the Audit Commission's previous work with older people, concluding with how the strategic approach in improving older people's lives can be demonstrated. (RH). |
