Annotation | With the deadline for the introducing Single Assessment Process (SAP) imminent, the author asks how social care professionals are getting to grips with the new assessment tools for its implementation. Her article discusses how some authorities are adapting EASY-Care, FACE (Functional Assessment of the Care Environment), MDS Home Care (Minimum Data Set for home care), or the Cambridge Assessment Tool (CAT) to suit their own requirements. Most authorities are opting for paper-based systems. The article also discusses the viewpoints of a training consultant, and of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and the Local Government Association (LGA). (RH). |
