Annotation | The development of intermediate care is a key element of current policy for older people in England, and has become Standard Three in the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF). The author highlights the possibility that rather than contributing to a more effective and coherent system of support for older people, intermediate care may lead to further fragmentation and the development of services which are not endorsed by older people themselves.
