Annotation | The authors respond to the UK Government's age consultation document (Department of Trade and Industry - DTI) that seeks views on best approaches to legislation outlawing age discrimination in the workplace. They contend that "Age matters" fails to grasp the nettle: in particular, the proposal to raise the mandatory retirement to 70 will not in itself end age discrimination. (RH). |
