Annotation | In Summer 2003, the Home Secretary, David Blunkett, announced his intention to work to make civil renewal the centrepiece of the Government's reform agenda. This paper considers the ideas of citizenship, community and social capital, and the related ideas of civic renewal and responsibility, and applies them to the position of ethnic and cultural minorities, including the effects of disadvantage in the workplace. It does so against the background of reports such as that of the Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain (CFMEB). (RH). |
