AnnotationThis article presents descriptive and preliminary findings from a study of African American female kinship caregiver residents of San Francisco, who received a case-managed supportive services intervention. It describes the methodology and instrumentation; presents the characteristics of caregivers and children; and gives the results that measured family needs, physical and mental health, and satisfaction with social support. The findings show decreased needs following the intervention, also improvement in general health and satisfaction with social support. Scores for clients' satisfaction with services were uniformly high. (KJ/RH).
