Annotation | In June 2001, a videoconference, "Emerging Issues in Social Work & Aging: Revisiting Geriatric Assessment", was held, co-sponsored by the Bronx Veterans Affairs Medical Center Geriatric Research Education Clinical Center (GRECC) and the Consortium of New York Geriatric Education Centers. This volume builds on that videoconference, and the articles contained have two dominant threads: assessment and caregiving. Contributions cover: the On Lok model of geriatric interdisciplinary team care; a hospital-based programme for family caregivers; older people with HIV; long-distance caregiving; elder abuse intervention strategies; and employed women and a life course model of parent care assessment and intervention. This book has been co-published simultaneously as Journal of Gerontological Social Work, vol 40, nos 1/2, 2002. (RH). |
