AnnotationAlthough short-term cognitive dysfunction within the first week after an operation has been researched for people aged 60+, little research has been undertaken into the potential long-term effects on cognition, with the exception of cardiac surgery. This short review notes differences in outcomes in the studies available, such that no definite conclusions are possible. (RH).
