Annotation | User involvement is regarded as a "good thing". However, some users detect the whiff of tokenism about it, while some service providers complain that users do not want to attend meetings. In this article, three leaders of older people's organisations give their views: Joan Scott, former chairperson of the National Forum of People with Learning Difficulties; Clare Evans, president of Wiltshire and Swindon Users Network; and Mervyn Eastman, director of Better Government for Older People (BGOP). Some tips on service user involvement are also offered. (RH). |
