AnnotationCaring-Web was developed to provide web-based, in-home support and education for caregivers of people with stroke during the first year after hospitalisation. The purpose of this article is to describe how the educational needs of survivors of stroke and their caregivers were identified, and how this information that these individuals sought was developed into an education "tip of the month" component for Caring-Web. A survey consisting of 49 healthcare topics, framed within Orem's universal self-care requisites, was completed by a convenience sample of 28 registered nurses to identify what they thought were the most frequent teaching needs for survivors of stroke and their caregivers. The top 12 topics reported were used to create educational tips of the month on Caring-Web. (KJ/RH).
