Annotation | Sexuality is one of the least understood aspects of ageing, and society often seems to imply that sexuality does not have a place in the lives of older people. This article provides an overview of sexuality and ageing, including myths and common physical, emotional and social concerns. It suggests how healthcare professionals can take a prevention or health promotion focus, that emphasizes education towards maintaining the quality of life of older people, and as a result, help them optimize their sexual quality of life during the "golden years" of their lives.
