Annotation | People leaving work before state pension age risk being poorer in retirement than if they had continued working. This qualitative study of 56 retired people in their fifties and early sixties profiled their experiences, decisions and attitudes after they stopped working. This is an outline of the findings of the full report, "Money, choice and control: the financial circumstances of early retirement" by Sue Arthur and published by the Policy Press on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) as part of its Transitions after 50 series.
