Annotation | The House of Commons Health Committee is about to hear evidence from charities, the Department of Health (DH) and nursing organisations in its investigation into the extent of elder abuse and what needs to be done about it. The author outlines some reasons for interest in this issue, and concludes that while the inquiry will focus on examples of bad practice, this should be balanced with an understanding of the needs for training and support for those who work in nursing and residential homes.
