| Annotation | This release of Key Indicators Graphical System (KIGS) on personal social services and local authority statistics contains data from 1990-91 to 2003-04. It therefore replaces earlier versions of KIGS. It includes the latest available data amongst others on budgets, expenditure, unit costs, home care, meals services, places in residential homes, supported residents. Generally these indicators show that service provision, and the costs of such provision, can vary widely even when comparing authorities that are apparently similar. This release includes the 2002-2003 data for the PAF indicators. The accompanying licence agreement allows for disks to be freely installed on as many computers as required. The accompanying pamphlet discusses the data sources in general terms; and lists the sources or returns used. It gives information about the treatment of missing data, and classification of authorities used in the graphical system. An internet version of KIGS is planned which would replace CD-ROM format.
