AnnotationDenbighshire came into being as a unitary authority in 1996, having been part of the former Clwyd. The purpose of the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well local people are being served by their social services, and to make a constructive contribution towards the further improvement of the services provided. The review finds that, despite a period of financial difficulties, some people in Denbighshire have continued to be well served. Examples of good practice include: the Rehabilitation Support Service; a Welfare Rights Service, which helps service users with access to benefits; and Joint Flexibilities projects, to improve joint working and overseeing schemes such as a community bathing assessment service. Priorities for action identified by the review include: investing in more preventative and rehabilitative services; and progressing with partnership initiatives with other agencies and authorities. The report is in English and Welsh. (RH).
