AnnotationSubmitted as part of Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education, Department for Extra-Mural Studies, University of London, this study covers the first-hand accounts of women aged 60+ and interviews conducted by the author. Also included is information about educational institutions during the interwar years, particularly the Workers' Educational Association (WEA) and the education which it provided for women; and some examination of the changing social and economic conditions which made it easier for some working class women to attend classes in ways not possible for their mothers and grandmothers. The study is generally confined to London, being based around findings of a survey conducted by ILEA Education Resources for Older People (EdROP). (RH).
