AnnotationThe work of the National Trust's Third-Age Volunteering Project funded by the Linbury Trust and the Home Office from 2000 to 2003, and what was learnt from it is reviewed. The report outlines the project profile, staff perceptions of volunteering by the over 50s, and recruiting third age volunteers. Working with property managers, a transport scheme for those who might otherwise be excluded from activities and opportunities, the Walking This Way to Health initiative, a European exchange programme for older volunteers, and working with volunteers with disabilities are examples of older volunteers' involvement which have led to the success and continuation of the project's activities.
