AnnotationThis directory, which was commissioned by Help the Aged, builds on Resource Information Service's work in the first edition, London ethnic elders service directory (1999). It lists some 600 services providing advice and information, social groups, day care, home visiting, befriending, home care, lunch clubs and counselling. Included are services for Black people, African, African Caribbean, and Asian people, and people form the Middle and Far East. Also included are services for Irish and Jewish people, and groups for refugees and asylum seekers. The directory is organised into London-wide services, sections by Borough, social service department (SSD) contacts, and other other useful organisations. Contents are fully indexed by keyword and organisation. A third edition is planned. (RH).
