Care provision in Scotland experiences of services and priorities for improvement | Author(s) | Belinda Dewar, Fiona O'May, Esther Walker |
Journal title | Nursing Older People, vol 15, no 1, March 2003 |
Pages | pp 14-16 |
Keywords | Domiciliary services ; Usage [services] ; Social surveys ; Scotland. |
Annotation | The views of recipients of free personal care in Scotland were published in 2001 in findings by Belinda Dewar and colleagues as "Public attitudes to the provision of free personal care: older people's focus group research" (Scottish Executive Central Research Unit, 2001). This article considers those tasks and services which older people consider important to them, and suggests priorities for change. The areas identified as failing to meet their needs were: aids and adaptations; access to information; and paramedical and medical services. (RH). |
