Annotation | As the population ages, the number of cases of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is expected to grow. This will demand something of a revolution in care and research. The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has published a report, "A biological and socio-economic assessment of the consequences of an ageing population", commissioned by the Alzheimer's Research Trust. This article outlines the report's findings, confirming the views of local authorities, NHS trusts and care home organisations, that care provided must be flexible and meet the needs of those with cognitive impairment.
