AnnotationThis is one of several topic reports looking at data from the survey carried out in 2000 by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on psychiatric morbidity of adults aged 16-74 living in private households in Great Britain. This report focuses on the prevalence of neurotic symptoms and disorders, and the distribution of cognitive function impairment in adults aged 60-74. It also examines variations in prevalence of common mental disorder by social and economic factors, and the interaction between neurotic symptoms, cognitive functioning and physical illness. (RH).
