AnnotationNew equality frameworks are emerging throughout the European Union (EU), brought about by the European anti-discrimination Directives. Accordingly, this UK Roundtable focused on debating the required legislative and institutional changes. Plenary sessions included Lord Lester of Herne Hill and his advocacy of an Equality Act; Belgian implementation of the EU Directives; and government action on race equality. Workshop discussions covered proposed changes to UK equality legislation and practical implementation of race equality laws. (RH).
