Annotation | The purpose of the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well local people are being served by their social services, and to make a constructive contribution towards the further improvement of the services provided. The Review finds that some, but not all, people in Warwickshire are well served by social services, though many users and carers are satisfied with the services they receive. The county offers a standard range of services for older people, with residential and home care forming its main planks. Although the picture for hospital discharge across the county is variable, the report notes the use of management information in dealing with delayed discharge as an example of good practice. Priorities for action identified by the Review include: improving professional standards in assessment and care management in adult services; working with health services to help people live at home if they choose to do so; and putting better outcomes for users at the centre of planning and being clear what they are.
