Annotation14 memory screening clinics were held in 6 different health centres across Milton Keynes at approximately weekly intervals in this 6-month pilot project. The clinics' aims were to identify and make contact with people in the early stages of dementia; and to enable easy access to assessment at a time when people are not sure whether or not they have a problem with their memory. The authors outline previous research findings on memory clinics; how the clinics were set up; the tests used; and an evaluation of the first 6 months. As developed in Milton Keynes, these clinics appeared to be an innovative project, something which had not been done in quite the same way before. The authors note that the clinics have been cited as an example of good practice under the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF). (RH).
