Annotation | This report presents a review of research literature relating to the range and quality of community care services in Scotland for older people. The focus is on outcomes for service users and carers, with chapters covering: assessing need in the community; assessment and care management; support at home; long-term care; and dementia care. Discussion and conclusions concern six themes that recognise: a Scotland-wide view; collaboration and new models of joint working; service users' and carers' needs; minority ethnic groups; equity and ageism; and the effects of workforce issues on quality of care.
