Annotation | Using the functioning of the Greenvale nursing home in the London Borough of Lambeth over a two year period (1996-98) as an example, this article discusses the role of NHS nursing homes for old age psychiatric patient and how such units form part of the comprehensive old age service. Four categories of patients are identified: long stay; respite care; discharge delay; and intermediate care and assessment. (RH). |
