AnnotationThis volume began as papers presented at the National Conference of the Centre for Ageing and Pastoral Studies held in Canberra, Australia, September 2001. The theme was mental health, spirituality and pastoral care in later life. The main topics at the conference and developed in this issue of the Journal of Religious Gerontology relate to understanding the relationship between mental health, spirituality and religion in later life, including the search for meaning, cultural and spiritual issues, depression, dementia and suicide in later life. The chapters have been arranged in two parts. Part 1 deals with issues of theology, culture and mental health in later life, whilst Part 2 consists of papers that raise issues of multidisciplinary practice in mental health and spirituality in later life. This issue of Journal of Religious Gerontology has also been published by the Haworth Pastoral Press as an indexed monographic "separate" (same title). (KJ/RH).
